Legal Assistant for Bulk Crimes Area Team

At the Västerorts Prosecutor's Office, there is a special area team for bulk crimes where all police-led preliminary investigations of a simpler nature from the four public prosecutor's offices within the Stockholm Prosecutor's Area are handled. It is primarily to this area team that we are now seeking legal assistants.

Your Responsibilities

As a legal assistant in the bulk crimes area team, you will work alongside prosecutors and assist them with various administrative matters. You will participate in the preparatory work for various prosecutorial decisions, for example, by preparing ongoing cases. You will work independently but also collaboratively in a group to ensure the administrative work functions smoothly. Service is a significant part of your daily work, both internally and externally. You will have a lot of contact with the public and other authorities, especially within the legal system, via phone and email.

The workday is event-driven, and cases may quickly come in that require you to make quick decisions and prioritize your work.

Your Qualities and Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a Swedish citizen and has completed or is nearing the end of their law degree. By the time you start as a legal assistant, you must have completed your law degree.

We want you to:

• have a strong interest in criminal law and procedural law and the activities conducted by the Prosecutor's Authority
• be meticulous, structured, and able to follow the guidelines and procedures in place
• be proactive and responsible, and be able to independently prepare your cases
• have the ability to prioritize, work persistently, and efficiently
• be resilient to stress as the workload can be high at times
• be able to collaborate easily, build good working relationships, and have an open attitude towards your surroundings
• be service-oriented
• be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• have good communication skills.

It is an advantage if you have gained experience in criminal cases through studies, internships, or work during or after your studies.

About the Employment

The position is a permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period.

The requirement for this position is that you have a Nordic law degree.
